Position: Trauma Clinical Nurse Educator - OMC, Jeff Hwy - Full Time
Location: New Orleans

Role Overview

This position serves as a teacher/facilitator/consultant who works collaboratively with nursing and organizational management to implement educational goals for the company. The candidate will assess needs, plan, organize, implement, and evaluate education and training activities to improve patient care outcomes and management systems.

Responsibilities
  • Assesses, designs, presents, and provides evaluation of educational programs for clinical and non‑clinical staff based on identified needs and competencies.
  • Actively participates in professional groups and associations.
  • Functions as a performance consultant.
  • Coordinates training facilities and other resources.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Stays knowledgeable on current federal, state, local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements, ensuring compliance.
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing preferred.
Work Experience
  • At least 3 years of nursing experience.
Certifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work across organizational lines to meet objectives.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities and projects involving multiple constituencies.
  • Excellent time‑management skills and the ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.
  • Ability to remain objective and professional in stressful situations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekend, holiday, on‑call availability).
Physical and Environmental Demands

The role requires medium physical effort, including exerting 20–50 pounds of force occasionally and 10–25 pounds of force frequently. The position involves walking and standing for significant periods and may include pushing or pulling materials. Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or hazardous medications is minimal and procedures are in place to limit risk. No significant exposure to communicable diseases is expected.
