Join a team dedicated to serving those who served. The Louisiana Veterans Home is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to aid nursing staff in providing high‑quality care to our honored veterans. This WAE-PRN position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day.
Minimum QualificationsPossession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi‑state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.
Job Duties- Prepare and administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Observe residents for changes in physical, mental and/or behavior status and report significant changes to the Supervisor and Physician.
- Transcribe physicians' orders, carry out physicians' orders, document in residents' medical records, obtain specimens for laboratory testing, and provide residents assistance with activities of daily living as needed.
Appointment Type: Classified WAE Appointment (not to exceed 1,245 hours in a 12‑month period)
Compensation: $28.00 hourly plus shift differential pay, with rates varying based on shift, day, and holiday schedules.
