Qualifications: Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.
Job Duties- Provide essential, hands‑on patient care.
- Monitor vital signs.
- Manage basic equipment to ensure patient comfort.
- Insert catheters and collect laboratory specimens.
Appointment Type: Probational
Location: Nursing Department, Louisiana Veterans Home, Jackson, Louisiana.
Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as an LPN 1/2/3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
Work Schedule: 12‑hour shift with a rotating weekend position. 6:00 am to 6:30 pm Day Shift and 6:00 pm to 6:30 am Night Shift.
Compensation: This position offers a Premium Pay of $7.00 per hour worked, plus the following Special Entrance Rates:
- LPN 1: $19.48 / hour
- LPN 2: $20.84 / hour
- LPN 3: $22.30 / hour
