Nurse Assistant; NA

A Nurse Assistant assists the nursing department with regard to residents' needs.

A Nurse Assistant must be able to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English. The assistant must also complete ongoing in‑service training requirements.

• Performs incidental housekeeping and maintenance tasks as may arise during the course of regular duties, in order to maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
• Assists with making the resident’s beds.
• Passes the water pitcher to residents.
• Passes towels and washcloths to the resident’s rooms.
• Brings supplies up from the basement and distributes nursing supplies.
• Cleans resident assist devices such as walking canes, geriatric chairs, walkers, and other mobility aids.
• Straightens residents’ closets and drawers.
