Job Summary
This nursing leadership position requires the application of the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The role involves leading and supporting the nursing team to achieve quality patient outcomes while respecting cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
Responsibilities- Leads patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice.
- Delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members to achieve quality patient outcomes.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
- Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for patients, families, and other disciplines.
- Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Adapts behavior to patient populations, respecting privacy and adapting communication style.
- Performs other related duties as assigned, maintaining involvement in unit and department strategic goals.
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing. - Work Experience
Required:
None.
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred:
Certification in a clinical specialty area.
Exerts 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Activities include walking, standing, moving objects, and may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases.
