American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Oncology unit position requiring at least 1 year of oncology experience, ONS/ONCC certification, and Epic proficiency.

• Work in the Oncology unit of a hospital setting
• Care for patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, blood, and other cancers
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No weekend requirement
• No floating requirement
• No call requirement
• 13-week assignment length

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and ONS/ONCC
• OCN certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent oncology nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, central line/PICC line care, chemotherapy administration, and biotherapy administration
• Experience with pain management including PCA pump management preferred
• At least two recent manager references required

• Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, infusion management, and pain management
• Deliver psychosocial support and patient/family education
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Strict 5-day maximum RTO policy
• Must reside within a 75-mile radius to qualify for local rate
• Former permanent employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel assignments
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
