American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring Epic experience and a Compact or LA RN license.
Details- Hospital setting within the PACU department supporting pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery for pediatric and adult patients
- Supports all surgical/procedural populations across 34 ORs on two floors, excluding patients requiring critical care services
- 1st floor unit includes 6 ORs, 2 cysto suites, a shared Pediatric GI/Lithotripsy room, and preps/recovers CT/MRI cases with high pediatric volume
- 2nd floor unit includes 28 ORs and services Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Pulmonary Lab cases
- Performs regional anesthesia and ECT procedures
- Uses Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and Accuvein equipment
- Epic EMR experience required
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- 2-3 scheduled weekends per contract
- No call-in requirement
- Must be comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed
- Active RN license (Compact or LA) required in hand at time of submission
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS (AHA-issued)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required; 3 years required for New Orleans operating room positions
- Preferred background in PACU or Pre/Post Op experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Provide pre-op and post-op recovery care to surgical and procedural patients of all ages
- Care team supports high patient volume across multiple OR and specialty suites
- Orientation held five days a week
- Candidates may be assigned to an Emergency Team during declared emergency events, requiring availability to remain onsite or serve as part of a relief team
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility to be considered
- RTO must be discussed during the interview process
- Previous employees who worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have been separated from the health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
