Doing Well By Doing Good & Having A Great Time Doing It
We’re a dynamic company with a rock solid team dedicated to helping families and their friends simply, safely, and sustainably enjoy summer vacations in the world’s most breathtaking houseboating destination, Lake Powell.
We work hard and play hard while using our innovative, no-trace, Beach Bags Systems to anchor private and rental houseboats along the emerald waters of Powell’s sandstone shorelines.
The scenery is breathtaking. The on-lake work is physical, fun, and financially rewarding.
And the opportunity to explore, adventure and play on the water, in the canyons, and throughout the spectacular Colorado Plateau is endless.
Our most successful team members are in good shape, enjoy hard work, and most importantly, possess thegrit to persevere in the face of a good challenge. Our teams typically include men and women from all different types of backgrounds and experiences including serial seasonal workers, college students on summer break, new grads, ROTC and ex-military, as well as cowboys, construction workers, and outdoor enthusiasts.
ALOT OF HARD WORK, A LOT OF REWARD
There is no denying that our work is physically demanding. Anchoring houseboats involves some heavy lifting in the heat as you and your team members put anchors in place, fill ‘em up, drain ‘em, and retrieve ‘em. Setting or striking anchoring sites takes about 30 - 60minutes and definitely gets your heart pumping.
Afterward, it's a quick jump in the lake to cool off, grab a snack, and joke with your teammates as you cruise off in a workboat to your next anchoring adventure.
It's an anchor, rinse, and repeat you'll do 6-10 times per workday.
Anchoring Crew members typically work 3 days per week (40 hrs) – receiving 4 days off. Over the course of the summer, you’ll not only anchor hundreds of houseboats, you’ll gain general boating knowledge, navigation skills and safety instruction. We even teach our team member how to operate and drive boats.
DAYS AND DAYS TO PLAYWe believe your summer job should be adventurous, exciting, and fun. Anchoring Crew members should plan to have 4 scheduled days off per week. How else are you going to enjoy all the fun that comes along with working at Lake Powell? And don't worry about planning all your adventures, we’ll take care of some of that too. You can expect group surfing trips, lake explorations, and hikes in some of the area’s most beautiful canyons.
If you love the outdoors, there is no better place to be! The Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Park are a few hours away and great mountain biking, world famous Antelope Canyon, and a beautiful golf course are available in and around town.
Base pay is $16/hour.
Overtime is paid 1.5X for hours worked beyond 40 per week.
Our customers love, love, love houseboating on Lake Powell. It’s their favorite place to be. Lake-life attitudes abound and tips for a job well done freely flow to our hard working and attentive Anchoring Crew members. It’s not uncommon for them to each make up to $5,000 - $8,0000 in tips per season.
(Overtime and tips are common, but not guaranteed, and will vary based on demand, weather, and staffing levels.)
In addition to financial compensation, you'll receive.
