Job OverviewNova Space Solutions (NSS) is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to support the NASA Consolidated Operations, Services, and Maintenance Infrastructure Contract (COSMIC) at Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans, Louisiana. This position is responsible for evaluating workplace health hazards, conducting industrial hygiene (IH) assessments, supporting regulatory compliance, and providing technical expertise to protect employee health while supporting NASA's mission.

Job Duties:
- Conduct industrial hygiene (IH) surveys, exposure assessments, and workplace evaluations.
- Perform field sampling, monitoring, and analysis for chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
- Evaluate employee health concerns and recommend appropriate exposure controls and corrective actions.
- Review work packages, engineering documents, construction plans, and operating procedures to identify and mitigate occupational health risks.
- Review departmental processes and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, NASA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Prepare, maintain, and manage industrial hygiene documentation, reports, and records in accordance with NASA and NSS requirements.
- Develop and deliver industrial hygiene training and technical guidance for employees and management.
- Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert (SME) for industrial hygiene matters.
- Support internal audits, inspections, investigations, and regulatory reviews.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment through proactive industrial hygiene practices.
- Provide technical guidance to management, employees, and project teams on occupational health risks and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), NASA, and other applicable standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve industrial hygiene programs, processes, and workplace health initiatives.
- Build collaborative relationships with employees, customers, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance employee health, regulatory compliance, and mission success.
Mandatory:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible industrial hygiene experience.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA, ACGIH, and other applicable occupational health regulations and standards.
- Experience conducting industrial hygiene surveys, exposure assessments, and field sampling.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and technical writing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience delivering technical presentations and training.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required NASA site access and credentials.
- Ability to pass required background screening and drug testing.
Preferred:
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification.
- Candidates actively pursuing CIH certification, including documented eligibility or examination preparation.
- Experience supporting NASA, Department of Defense (DoD), or other highly regulated government environments.
