Job Overview

HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in St. Gabriel, LA is looking for a Health and Safety Supervisor to work at a client facility. The role involves inspecting work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state and federal safety policies and regulations; overseeing ongoing work sites to ensure personnel comply with safety requirements; promoting a positive safety culture; handling emergency response and site remediation under all types of weather conditions.

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
• Conduct health and safety inspections, audits and interventions; investigate, oversee, and observe safety conditions and manage safety permits and required paperwork.
• Manage employee safety training programs and coordination.
• Handle JSA’s (job safety analysis), JHA’s (job hazard analysis) and manage safety equipment inspection, testing and supply.
• Provide leadership and guidance on Clean Harbors specific processes and expectations.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents and manage injury and accident follow‑up and reporting.
• Coach, manage and supervise teams to further enhance their safety responsibility and performance.
• Establish relationships with client safety department.
• Demonstrate proficiency at a wide variety of assignments and direct personnel in operational procedures to complete assignments.
• Inspect assigned work areas and equipment to identify compliance issues.
• Document safety inspections, citing dangerous areas, procedures, and practices; recommend corrective actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 2+ years of progressively responsible and related experience in an industrial setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of First Aid, Confined Space and Fall Protection, and DISA standards preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must have a Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
• Must have Construction Site Safety Tech certification (CSST).
• BCSP or other professional certification a plus (OHST, CHST, SMP, ASP, CSP, COSS, COSM, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of regulations.
