Job Description

As the Facility Safety Manager
, you will be responsible for leading and administering the Health, Safety, and Environmental program at the Belle Chasse facility. You will ensure facility operations comply with MCG policies, client requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

The following list of responsibilities is not all inclusive,additional projects and/or tasks may be assigned to meet operational needs.

  • Providing visible HSE leadership and serving as the facility’s primary safety representative.
  • Conducting facility inspections, identifying hazards, recommending corrective actions, and verifying completion.
  • Monitoring employee and contractor compliance with safety policies, procedures, training, and PPE requirements.
  • Administering safety meetings, employee training, emergency-preparedness programs, and required HSE communications.
  • Leading or supporting investigations involving injuries, illnesses, near misses, property damage, fires, and environmental incidents.
  • Performing injury case management in coordination with site management and under the recommendations and approval of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), including monitoring medical treatment, work restrictions, return-to-work planning, required documentation, case follow-up, and closure.
  • Maintaining accurate and audit-ready HSE records, including OSHA logs, training records, inspection reports, incident documentation, and corrective-action tracking.
  • Administering hazardous-material and hazardous-waste requirements, including reviewing Safety Data Sheets and ensuring proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal.
  • Supporting facility management during client audits, regulatory inspections, insurance reviews, and outside-agency investigations.
  • Communicating HSE performance, significant incidents, emerging risks, and improvement recommendations to facility leadership, Safety Director and or Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)
  • Exercising stop-work authority when an activity presents an imminent danger or unacceptable risk to employees, contractors, property, or the environment.
  • Performing other HSE-related duties reasonably assigned based on operational or business needs.
Qualifications

Required Knowledge/

Experience:

  • This role requires fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Valid Drivers license
  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years of progressive HSE experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Manufacturing or industrial environment experience.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (general industry)
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with:
