Daikin Applied is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer IV
. In this critical role, you will lead the establishment of a World‑Class quality culture at Daikin with the mission to turn quality into a competitive advantage, ultimately on a global enterprise basis, while reducing fielded Quality events and Company warranty costs. This is done through the implementation of a broad, systematic approach to ensure that products consistently meet quality and regulatory standards through planned and systematic activities as part of an improved Product Introduction (NPI) process, including development of quality assurance during development and control measures to be implemented in production and test.

In Office - Plymouth, MN

• Establish a process for the application of Quality Assurance Engineering expertise and methodologies for the New Product Introduction (NPI) DP Process of Quality Components including:
• Formulate and maintain quality assurance system improvement objectives which complement corporate policies and goals and incorporate these goals and objectives into the expectations for the Quality functions at each manufacturing location
• Analyze, evaluate, and present information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, and design and development of new products for consideration by other members of the management team
• Collaborate with engineering managers to ensure new products meet quality standards in accordance with the NPI (New Product Introduction) and development process and to identify and correct design problems on existing products
• Oversee the quality assurance engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor and company quality records
• Support the development and initiation of standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation
• Suggest and debate alternative methods and procedures in solving problems and meeting changing market conditions
• Keep management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and corrective actions
• Prepare and present technical and program information to the management team
• Establish basic quality disciplines (problem solving, data collection, prioritization and metrics). Develop initial and subsequent modifications to the quality improvement program to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements, and operational procedures within program
• Review data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures. Review technical problems and procedures and recommend solutions or revisions
• Conduct management meetings with Quality Assurance Managers to establish, delineate, and review program policies, coordinate functions and operations between departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives
• Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards. Review technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• 8 to 10 years of related experience including product development, manufacturing engineering and Operations
• Track record of successful project management and team leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of quality and design engineering, DFMEA & PFMAE application, manufacturing, specifications, testing and inspections
• Ability to travel to Daikin’s key sites throughout the U.S & Mexico. Some overseas travel may be required.
