Quality Control Technician

We are looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our Catalyst team in Vidalia, LA. Come create chemistry with us! BASF's Catalysts division is the global market leader in catalyst technologies. The division develops and produces mobile emissions catalysts as well as process catalysts and offers precious metals trading, recycling and related products and services. As a Quality Control Technician in our Process Catalyst business, you will build a meaningful career while supporting BASF's Vidalia Louisiana manufacturing operations.

During your 12-hour rotating shift as a Quality Control Technician, you will...

  • Analyze raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet customer requirements and document records for traceability.
  • Follow established quality, safety and environmental procedures and policies.
  • Author or update procedures.
  • Operate Lab instruments in a safe and professional manner.
  • Maintain Lab equipment, ensure adequate Lab supply inventories, conduct instrument calibrations/checks, etc.
  • Maintain QC and Production Lab areas "5S" clean, organized, and safe.
  • Work with SAP QM to manage the Quality Management process to fulfill customers' requirements.
  • Order Lab supplies as needed to maintain desired working inventories.
  • Generate ideas that improve the safety, efficiency and/or the overall effectiveness of the continuous improvement program in the laboratory.

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience.
  • Hold a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Have the highest standards of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Have relevant experience with basic laboratory instrumentation: titration, ovens, fumehoods, scales, vacuum pumps, and particle analyzer.
  • Have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) and experience with SAP software.
  • Have the ability to work with a diverse team including lab technicians, chemists, production, and logistics to ensure the best overall result for BASF.
  • Be self-driven with a high degree of initiative and time management skills.
  • Be highly organized, flexible, and capable of adapting to priority changes on a regular basis.
  • Possess experience in a production environment.
  • Have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Pay transparency The pay rate for this role is $23.40 per the Union's collective bargaining agreement.
