Advantest Supply Chain Quality Engineering Team Manager

Advantest is the world's leading supplier of automatic test equipment (ATE) for the semiconductor industry. Our systems enable the testing of the most advanced semiconductor devices that power artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, automotive, industrial, and consumer applications.

To strengthen our organization, we are looking for a highly motivated leader to manage the PCB/A Supply Chain Quality Engineering team responsible for supplier quality, technology qualification, process excellence, and continuous quality improvement across our strategic PCB and PCA supply base.

Your Responsibilities

As Team Manager Supply Chain Quality Engineering (PCB/PCA), you will lead a team of engineers responsible for ensuring quality, reliability, manufacturability, and supplier performance throughout the entire product lifecycle. You will act as the key link between Engineering, R&D, supply chain, Manufacturing Partners, and Suppliers to ensure successful delivery of highly complex technology products.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Supply Chain Quality Engineers.
  • Define team objectives and align them with business and strategic goals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Support employee development, succession planning, and talent acquisition.
Supply Chain Quality Management & Auditing
  • Own supplier quality strategies for PCB and PCA commodities across a global, fully outsourced supply chain.
  • Drive supplier quality performance through audits, assessments, scorecards, and improvement programs.
  • Ensure robust qualification and monitoring of suppliers and manufacturing partners.
Technology & Engineering Interface
  • Support introduction of next-generation PCB and PCA technologies
  • Collaborate closely with R&D and Product Engineering on technology readiness and risk assessments.
  • Drive design-for-manufacturing (DFM), design-for-quality (DFQ), and supplier technology roadmaps.
  • Ensure successful qualification of new materials, manufacturing processes, suppliers, and multi-source strategies.
Continuous Improvement & Risk Management
  • Develop and implement quality strategies that support business growth and operational excellence.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and systemic improvement initiatives.
  • Drive risk mitigation programs across the supply chain.
  • Ensure lessons learned are systematically captured and leveraged globally.
Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Manufacturing, Quality Management, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
Professional Experience
  • Several years of leadership experience managing technical or quality-focused engineering teams.
  • Extensive experience in PCB and/or PCA manufacturing technologies.
  • Strong background in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or supply chain quality engineering.
  • Experience working in complex global and outsourced manufacturing environments.
  • Proven track record of managing suppliers and driving quality improvements.

Technical Expertise
  • PCB fabrication technologies
  • PCA assembly processes (SMT, THT, selective soldering, inspection technologies)
  • Electronics manufacturing and quality systems
  • Advanced technology products with demanding quality and reliability requirements
  • Supplier qualification and audit methodologies
  • Root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques
  • Process capability, quality metrics, and continuous improvement methods
Knowledge of industry standards such as:
  • IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC-2221, IPC/WHMA-A-620, ISO 9001, VDA 6.3 (beneficial)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with in semiconductor, electronics, aerospace, automotive, or other high-reliability industries.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and technology transfer programs.
  • Experience managing quality within highly complex, low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environments.
  • International supplier management experience across Europe, Asia, and North America.
