Senior Metrology Technician

Noble Plastics is seeking a skilled metrology professional to serve as the technical expert for measurement systems and inspection methodology. This is a high-impact quality role supporting engineering, production, tooling, customers, and new product launches through accurate, repeatable, and reliable inspection processes.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical training or degree in Metrology, Quality, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR regulations

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of metrology experience required
  • At least 3 years of advanced CMM programming experience
  • Experience creating CMM programs from CAD models and engineering drawings
  • Minimum 3 years of experience using Poly Works or equivalent advanced metrology software
  • Advanced knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T, MSA, Gage R&R, capability studies, and dimensional measurement principles
  • Strong understanding of fixture design, probing strategies, datum structures, and measurement uncertainty
  • Ability to mentor and train quality technicians and inspectors

Job Duties:

  • Develop, validate, and maintain complex CMM programs using Poly Works
  • Serve as the technical authority for dimensional measurement systems
  • Create inspection setup sheets, standard work instructions, and measurement strategies
  • Perform first article inspections, capability studies, validation studies, and special inspection projects
  • Lead Gage R&R studies and other Measurement System Analysis activities
  • Analyze Cp, Cpk, Pp, and Ppk results and recommend process improvements
  • Review engineering drawings and GD&T requirements for measurement feasibility
  • Support PPAP, validation, customer qualification, and new product launch activities
  • Investigate dimensional nonconformances and support corrective action efforts
  • Maintain accurate inspection documentation, revision history, and measurement records
  • Support ISO 9001 requirements, audits, calibration awareness, and quality system compliance

Physical Capabilities:

  • Ability to work in quality lab, production, tooling, and manufacturing environments
  • Frequent computer use, inspection setup, measurement analysis, and detailed documentation
  • Strong visual attention to detail required
  • Ability to handle inspection tools, fixtures, and production components as needed
