Chemical and Physical Testing Specialist
The role involves performing a variety of chemical and physical tests following the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods or industry standards across multiple test areas. The position requires expertise in equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Gas Chromatography (GC) instruments, as well as method development for these instruments.
Responsibilities- Conduct chemical and physical tests according to ASTM methods and industry standards.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot GC instruments.
- Develop methods for GC instruments.
- Record data accurately on data sheets and report findings to the LIMS system.
- Maintain quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping protocols.
- 3-5 years of experience with Gas Chromatography (GC).
- Proficiency in chromatography and quality control.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related life science.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of wet chemistry and instrumentation.
The position involves shift work and requires adherence to safety and quality standards in a laboratory setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Rose, LA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
