Xavier University of Louisiana is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Research Technician within the lab of Dr. Rami
A. Al‑Horani. This role supports a multidisciplinary research program involving enzyme kinetics, molecular modeling and biological testing to discover, design and develop new therapeutics. The position provides opportunities to learn new research skills and contribute to innovative projects.

Responsibilities- Facilitate ongoing research activities in the laboratory.
- Assist with animal studies, including mouse handling and tissue harvesting.
- Maintain mammalian cell cultures in vitro and perform basic lab assays.
- Conduct antibody staining, immunohistochemistry and imaging experiments.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and assist in training other lab associates.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and division, college, and university guidelines.
- Demonstrate strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Occasionally work evenings or weekends as needed.
- Minimum requirement: MS degree in pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical sciences or a closely related field.
- Basic skills in molecular biology, including mammalian cell culture in vitro, immunohistochemistry and imaging.
- Demonstrated ability to work with mice.
- Strong laboratory organization and record‑keeping abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Work Hours:
Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day; occasional extended or additional hours may be required.
