Job Opportunity at Mercedes-Benz AG
The PIONEERING NeXt department supports Mercedes-Benz's departments across the company in ensuring technology and innovation leadership. The Startup & Academic Partnerships team acts as a bridge between external global innovation/academic ecosystems and internal R&D (Research & Development) departments. With our ACADEMICompass, we scout for new technologies and use cases through external innovation and academic partners and enable early evaluation through collaborations and pilot projects.
In our team, you will have the opportunity to work on topics with high responsibility and gain comprehensive insights into the strategic themes of our research and development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Exchanging with internal departments to define innovation needs
- Deriving suitable collaboration models
- Innovation scouting and evaluation of innovation/academic partners
- Initiating joint projects
- Preparing and presenting information to internal and external management
- Supporting the conception, setup, and operation of the internal know-how platform/tools
- Testing and pilot implementation of suitable AI tools for the application area
The position can start in September 2026.
Required qualifications include:
- Degree in technical studies, engineering, business engineering, business informatics, or a comparable field
- Proficient use of MS Excel and MS Power Point
- Strong English and German skills in writing and speaking
- Analytical and conceptual skills, communication, and teamwork
- Enthusiasm and ability to quickly adapt to new topics
- First practical experience and international experience are advantageous
- Analytical mindset and strategic approach
