Position: INTELLIGENCE ANALYST (CLASS CODE 0732)
Location: New Orleans

Provides skilled analytical support to the OIG and assists in the planning, coordinating, and documenting of investigations, audits, and evaluations. The role includes analyzing data from a variety of sources to develop trends, patterns, profiles, estimates, studies, and tactical information using established intelligence techniques. Work also involves conducting highly complex analyses that may impact other cases and city‑wide investigations, as well as related duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience – Alternate 1: One (1) year of professional experience conducting research and/or evaluations, including data collection and analysis; producing written reports that include conclusions; and using Word, Excel, and/or Access to organize, analyze, and present data and evidence.
  • Experience – Alternate 2: One (1) year of experience in an Office of Inspector General conducting research and/or evaluations, with the same data‑collection, reporting, and technology requirements.
  • Verification: Prior to appointment, the agency must verify the applicant’s education and driver’s license; upon selection, original documents must be provided prior to the start date.
Assessment and Screening
  • Written examination (100% weighted) covering Basic Management Principles, Decision‑Making and Organizing, Interpersonal Skills, Written Communication, and Mathematics.
  • Urinalysis test to detect illegal drug usage.
  • Background investigation will be conducted.
