Position Description

The Albert and Tina Small Center for Collaborative Design seeks graduate fellows to support a range of research and design initiatives focused on advancing the public interest through architecture and design. Successful candidates will demonstrate strengths in writing, research, data analysis, community engagement, mapping, design, and critical representation.

This fellowship is ideal for students interested in architecture as a means of addressing inequities in the built environment. The work is inherently interdisciplinary, operating at the intersection of architecture, public policy, public health, urban studies, social justice, and economics.

This semester, Small Center will be working with residents and business owners in Marigny and Bywater to reimagine the St. Claude corridor, standing up a new exhibit exploring the links between Health and the Built Environment, working with Booker T. Washington High School to design new recreation facilities, and engaging in housing and homelessness research.
