The Cashier role provides fast, friendly, accurate and safe service at the checkout and, if applicable, at the Self-Checkout area. Cashiers process Checkout and/or Return transactions, monitor the Self-Checkout area, and seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities. They follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink. A Head Cashier may support Cashiers by expediting price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.

They provide first-level escalation for customer issues and assist in the supervision, coaching and training of other Front End Associates by participating in the training of new Cashiers and using tools to coach and develop others. The preferred qualification for a Head Cashier is 1+ years of Cashier experience.

• Process Checkout and/or Return transactions and monitor the Self-Checkout area.
• Provide customers with fast, friendly, accurate, and safe service.
• Acquire product/project knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities.
• Follow policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
• Assist Head Cashier with price checks, POS transactions, and markdowns for various areas (mainline, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, Tool Rental).
• Provide first-level escalation for customer issues.
• Assist in supervision, coaching and training of Front End Associates and participate in training of new Cashiers.

• Preferred qualification: 1+ years of Cashier experience.
