Job Summary
Our associates at Red, White, and Blue Thrift perform a range of tasks and processes essential to our retail operations. These positions require attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. The roles are full‑time, and medical benefits become available after 90 days of employment.
Role Responsibilities- Facilities Associate – Unloading and loading trailers, operating a trash compactor, operating a baling machine, and janitorial duties. The position is labor intensive.
- Production Associate – Pre‑sorting donations, sorting, pricing, hanging, tagging, attaching sensors, and distributing merchandise to the floor.
- Sales Floor Associate – Cashier, Sales Floor, and Donation Center Attendant.
- Other Positions – Box truck driver, dispatcher, and supervisor.
- Full‑time hours.
- Benefits eligible after 90 days of employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous thrift, retail, warehouse, back of house, or customer‑facing experience is preferred, but not required.
- Capability to safely perform job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting productivity requirements.
- Physical strength: occasional lift and carry up to 40–70 lbs, frequent exertion up to 25 lbs of force.
- Endurance: able to stand for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity: perform repetitive motions such as extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction and working primarily with fingers.
- Fine motor skills: tasks involving seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand(s).
- Balance and agility: maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
- Visual acuity: clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more.
- Atmosphere: dynamic, consistently busy. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced and busy environment is essential.
- Noise level: noisy due to bustling activity on the sales floor and production area. Ability to work effectively in a noisy environment is required.
- Lighting: bright lighting throughout the front and back of store. Ability to work effectively in a bright environment is required.
- Interactions with others: regular interactions with customers, donors, and coworkers, fostering a collaborative and customer‑focused environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Flexibility: high degree of flexibility; may be asked to switch tasks or departments. Expected to work in all assigned areas.
- Employees are not required to communicate exclusively in English, but interactions with primarily English‑speaking customers, donors, colleagues, and supervisors may be necessary.
- Fundamental understanding of written and spoken English for comprehending instructions, and ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English, may be necessary.
- Production workers and facilities associates are typically scheduled Monday through Friday, 7am–3:30pm.
- Sales floor associates are typically scheduled 10am–6:30pm. They receive two days off;
Sunday and one other day of the week, not typically consecutive.
