Position Summary
The Budget Specialist supports the development and oversight of community budgets by collaborating with key stakeholders, reviewing financial data, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals. This role contributes to informed decision‑making, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of budgeting practices.
Pay Range$85-90k base.
Our posted compensation reflects the cost of talent across multiple US geographic markets. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Essential Job Functions- Develop property budgets in partnership with operational teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with ownership objectives and financial strategy.
- Propose budget adjustments that improve financial performance and align with operational needs.
- Review financial data and monitor budget performance to identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and support accurate reporting.
- Support the reforecasting process by assisting with updated financial projections.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and reporting standards.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance budgeting tools, practices, and efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree or 3‑5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or analytics.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with attention to detail and ability to present information clearly and accurately.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and customer groups.
8am-5pm, Monday‑Friday, or as needed to meet business needs.
Physical Requirements /EnvironmentThis job generally operates in a professional office environment but may also occasionally operate in an outdoor environment. Employees must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time, occasionally move about the office, constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, communicate regularly and effectively with others, both written and verbally, and may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
The position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. The ability and means to travel locally, overnight, in specific regions or states via automobile and airplane may be required.
