CASHIER GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This is a Part-time OR Full-time position working under the supervision of the NuNu'S Fresh Market Store Manager and/or Assistant Store Manager. Uses the POS register system to accurately and efficiently check out customer orders, collect funds, and bag orders. Ensure that the workstation is kept clean, neat, and orderly at all times. Communicate with and assist customers in a polite and friendly manner.

Stocks shelves when assigned or as necessary. Dependable, punctual, good work habits, detail oriented, and a high energy level. Must maintain a clean and presentable appearance. Delivers exceptional customer service to all customers!

• Greets all customers with a smile and a pleasant attitude. Communicates with customers in a professional manner.
• Responsible for checking customer orders on the POS register system, accurately, collecting funds, and bagging orders.
• Keeps workstation and retail areas clean, neat, and orderly.
• Stays aware of shoplifters and reports any suspicious instances to management.
• Understands and complies with all safety and sanitation guidelines of NuNu's.
• Bring customer orders to cars.
• Knowledge of items in store and able to answer customer inquiries or direct them to the proper department supervisor or store manager or assistant manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

• Experience with POS register system and/or computer system
• Experience in dealing with Louisiana SNAP and WIC Programs
• Experience in dealing with Alcohol and Tobacco sales
• Must either have possession of or able to obtain a valid Louisiana Responsible Vendor Certificate required by the State of Louisiana to sell alcohol.

• Must have excellent communication and customer service skills, polite, and friendly.
• Skill in reading and math.
• Able to understand and comply with NuNu's Fresh Market's policies and procedures.
• Able to scan, weigh, and provide accurate checkout services.
• Able to handle money and efficiently give back change.
• Able to understand and abide by Louisiana State regulations regarding SNAP, WIC, Alcohol Sales, and Tobacco Sales.
• Able to memorize product  and weekly ad specials.
• Able to recognize all items from the Produce Department.
• Able to answer customer inquiries regarding pricing and location of items within the store.
• Able to assist customers by bringing orders to their cars when necessary.
• Able to work well with different personalities.
• Able to use repetitive motion with hands and arms.
• Able to follow instructions, multitask, and work well under stressful situations.
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Able to sweep and mop.
• Able to bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
• Able to work various shifts including weekends.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
