Cashiers are the usually the first face you see when you come in the store so first impressions are important. It means something to the customer to be greeted in a welcoming and friendly manner.

• 1. Scanning items:
  Cashiers scan each item a customer wants to purchase, using a barcode scanner or manually entering the item's code. Making sure not to miss items in the bottom of buggy and remembering to tag items too big to be bagged with a paid label.
• 2. processing payments, including cash, credit or debit cards, and checks. They should be able to count change accurately and provide receipts to customers.
• 3. Handling returns and exchanges:
  If a customer wants to return or exchange an item, the cashier should process the request according to store policies and with manager approval.
• 4. Keeping the register area clean and organized:
  Cashiers are responsible for keeping their work area clean and organized, including the cash register, scanner, and bags.
• 5. Resolving customer complaints:
  If a customer has a problem or complaint, the cashier should try to resolve it quickly and courteously, or refer the customer to a supervisor if necessary.
• 6. Help stocking when needed.
• 7. Sweep and mop as needed.
