What you will do
  • Responsible for the sale of Johnson Controls service offerings to owners, primarily at the Director level.
  • Promote the Johnson Controls value proposition to building owners by providing technical solutions and operational expertise.
  • Build and manage long‑term customer relationships and partnerships with target and managed accounts.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Sell Security and Integrated Systems to the construction industry.
  • Perform the sales process to cultivate and manage long‑term relationships, as well as qualifying and closing new sales opportunities.
  • Obtain and close sales on a monthly basis.
  • Expand the depth and breadth of Johnson Controls offerings within an account.
How you will do it
  • Build partnering relationships with assigned accounts to drive penetration of the Security and Integrated Systems & Services offering.
  • Maintain frequent face‑to‑face contact with the customers who most directly influence penetration.
  • Actively listen, probe, and identify concerns; address concerns and performance lapses.
  • Understand the customer's business and speak their language.
  • Develop credibility, loyalty, trust, and commitment.
  • With assigned contractors, make take‑offs and bids for the full spectrum of projects with the full spectrum of JCI offerings.
  • With assigned consulting engineers, drive specifications of the full spectrum of projects toward the JCI offering.
  • With assigned owner accounts, drive favorable specification changes.
  • Keep management informed of progress and account status; call for assistance from manager to keep the sales process moving.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge by writing specifications or matching proposals to building specifications to provide value to the customer and favorably position Johnson Controls.
  • Qualify and assess potential customers under direction; team with colleagues on individual projects based on account assignments.
  • Honor credit split guidelines and refer leads to other business segments.
  • Develop relationships with internal operations and administrative staff to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve issues efficiently.
What we look for
  • Required degree or equivalent experience of more than eight years.
  • A minimum of two (2) plus years of consultative progressive field sales experience in a highly complex sales process preferably in the Fire/Security/IT industry; with a strong emphasis on Security selling.
  • Excellent initiative and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels.
  • Technically savvy.
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in business or engineering.
  • A proven track record of sales success in the Fire/Security/IT industry of five or more years.
Salary and Incentives

Hiring salary range: $60,000 – $80,000. Salary determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and internal equity. This role also offers a competitive sales incentive plan that will take into account project, quarterly, and annual margin. The position includes a competitive benefits package.
