Job SummaryThe Des Moines Embassy Club is seeking a dynamic, results-driven membership leader to drive strategic growth and elevate the member experience across our prestigious private city club. This role is responsible for leading all aspects of membership acquisition, retention, and engagement, leveraging technology, analytics, and relationship-building to achieve ambitious membership and revenue goals.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished sales professional with proven leadership experience, strong business acumen, and the ability to leverage data and technology to develop innovative membership strategies. This individual serves as a key ambassador for the Club and collaborates closely with senior leadership to ensure the organization’s long-term growth and success.
Key Responsibilities Membership Sales & Business Development- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve membership growth and revenue objectives.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective members through networking, referrals, community outreach, and targeted marketing initiatives.
- Conduct club tours, presentations, and membership consultations that effectively communicate the value and prestige of the Club.
- Establish and monitor sales metrics, conversion goals, and performance benchmarks to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and develop membership and support team members to ensure exceptional service and strong sales performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Create and implement processes that improve efficiency, member satisfaction, and operational effectiveness.
- Partner with club leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives that support the Club’s mission and financial objectives.
- Develop strategies to increase member engagement, satisfaction, and long-term retention.
- Build meaningful relationships with members and proactively address concerns and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee onboarding initiatives that create a seamless and welcoming experience for new members.
- Collaborate with club departments to deliver exceptional experiences that strengthen member loyalty and advocacy.
- Leverage CRM platforms, membership databases, and reporting tools to manage prospect pipelines, track member engagement, and identify growth opportunities.
- Analyze membership trends, sales data, and key performance indicators to make informed, data-driven decisions.
- Utilize digital marketing platforms, social media, and technology solutions to enhance member communication and recruitment efforts.
- Prepare and present regular reports on membership performance, retention, forecasting, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Partner with the marketing team to develop campaigns, events, and promotional initiatives that increase brand awareness and generate membership leads.
- Represent the Club at networking events, community organizations, and business functions to strengthen relationships and expand the Club’s presence in the market.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships that support membership growth and enhance the Club’s reputation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
- Three or more years of progressive experience in sales leadership, membership development, business development, hospitality, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales goals and driving measurable revenue growth.
- Proven leadership and people management experience, including coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into strategic action.
- Advanced proficiency with CRM systems, membership databases, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital marketing platforms.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage executives, members, and community leaders.
- Highly organized, self‑motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
