CompensationStarting / Initial Base Salary: $19.23–$38.46 per hour or $40,000–$80,000 per year.
Commission:
- 50%–150% of one month’s MRCs (monthly recurring charges)
- 1/12 of one-time NRCs (non‑recurring charges)
- 1/24 of burst
Tenured Base Salary: $19.23–$48.07 per hour or $40,000–$100,000 per year, based on tenure and performance pay increases.
Specific offers within these ranges depend on experience, education, skills, certifications, and business needs.
Responsibilities- Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed regional sales territory via sourcing and hunting, focusing on the mid‑market and non‑named national account segments (up to 500–999 employees).
- Generate and qualify prospects through direct calls, emails, and other outreach, working directly with key decision makers.
- Support prospecting and selling through field activities such as building walks, lobby events, property‑management relationships, and face‑to‑face meetings.
- Apply consultative and relationship‑building techniques to identify current and future connectivity solutions.
- Position Cogent services for new business opportunities.
- Achieve monthly revenue goals by selling into the nation’s largest commercial and retail buildings, office parks, and professional campuses.
- Recent sales experience with a proven track record, required.
- Ability to identify, qualify, and generate new business through extensive prospecting and research.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Capacity to work in a fast‑paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM systems is a plus.
- College degree preferred but not required.
This is an in‑office position, five days a week, designed to support successful mentorship, training, and coaching.
