What you will do

Under specific direction, the candidate is responsible for the sale of Johnson Controls service offerings to owners, primarily at the Director level. They promote the Johnson Controls value proposition to building owners by providing technical solutions and operational expertise. They build and manage long‑term customer relationships and partnerships with target and managed accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction. They sell Security and Integrated Systems to the construction industry, perform the sales process to cultivate and manage long‑term relationships, and seek new sales opportunities to obtain and close sales monthly, expanding the depth and breadth of Johnson Controls offerings within an account.

How

you will do it
  • Build partnering relationships with the assigned accounts to drive penetration of the Security and Integrated Systems and Services offering.
  • Maintain frequent face‑to‑face contact with customers who most directly influence penetration. Actively listen, probe, address concerns, and understand the customer's business to develop credibility, loyalty, trust, and commitment.
  • Collaborate with assigned contractors to take‑offs and bid the full spectrum of projects, and with consulting engineers to drive specifications toward JCI offerings. With owner accounts, drive favorable specifications.
  • Keep management informed of progress and account status, and call for assistance from the manager to keep the sales process moving.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge by writing specifications or matching proposals to building specifications to provide value to the customer and favorably position Johnson Controls.
  • Under direction, qualify and assess potential customers, and coordinate with colleagues on projects based on account assignments. Honor the credit split guidelines and refer leads to other business segments.
  • Develop relationships with internal operations and administrative staff to ensure customer satisfaction, effectively and efficiently addressing issues.
What we look for Required
  • Degree or equivalent experience of more than eight years.
  • Minimum of two plus years of consultative progressive field sales experience in a highly complex sales process, preferably in the Fire/Security/IT industry with a strong emphasis on Security selling.
  • Excellent initiative and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels and technical savvy.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in business or Engineering.
  • Proven track record of sales success in the Fire/Security/IT industry of five or more years.
Compensation and Benefits

Hiring salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 (Salary determined by experience, education, etc.). This role also offers a competitive sales incentive plan and a comprehensive benefits package.
