Mechanical Equipment Inspector; Class Code 2240

Job Responsibilities

Beginning level inspectional and law enforcement work in maintaining legal requirements and safety standards relating to mechanical equipment; and related work as required. Possession of a valid driver’s license.

• Valid driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or
• Two (2) years of full‑time experience in the installation and maintenance of boilers, refrigeration and air‑conditioning systems, gas equipment, elevators—or other mechanical equipment.
• Certified as a Residential Mechanical Inspector by the International Code Council during the one‑year probationary period.
• Car allowance available for employees who use their own automobile.
• One‑year probationary period required.
