Location: New Orleans
performs general level analyses of biological samples for dna typing in criminal casework and is a user of the combined dna index system (codis) of the dna laboratory as outlined in the fbi "quality assurance standards for forensic dna testing laboratories" (qas) and national dna index system (ndis) operational procedures; and related work as required.
qualifications- a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in forensic science, chemistry, biology, or a closely related scientific field.
- twelve (12) semester hours of college coursework that must have included biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology and either statistics or population genetics.
- under 10 years of experience in related work (credit given only for the last 10 years).
- official college transcript must be presented to the new orleans civil service department within two (2) weeks of application.
