Job Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of assigned projects in accordance with contract and corporate requirements supporting the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works as a member of the Operations Center Branch with duties in the Battle Simulation Center (BSC) and Scenario Development Branch (SDB).
  • Position reports directly to the Branch Chief, Ops Center.
  • Responsible for supporting US Army Brigade Combat Team (BCT) rotational training exercises.
  • Replicates the maneuver operations staff NCO (S3) of a simulated US Army BCT.
  • Conducts close coordination with the simulated US Army BCT’s, Plans and Exercise Maneuver Control (P/EMC) Chief (Z06), and Operations Planners (Z01/Z03) to synchronize and replicate the unit’s tactical operations with 21 ABN Division or JTF-21 tactical operations.
  • Develop simulated BCT scenario deliverables in-support-of (ISO) 21 ABN or JTF-21 battle rhythm events (Commander’s Updates (CUB), Commander’s Targeting Synchronization Brief (CTSB), Operation Sync (OPSYNC), Division Orders Brief, etc.).
  • Work is performed in a high OPTEMPO environment receiving, collecting, and analyzing data via radio communications, pertaining to U.S. Army maneuver operations.
  • Effectively input data and reports into assigned computer systems in a timely manner, ensuring that all data points are addressed and accurate.
  • Receive and collect data and format same using MS PowerPoint and other multi-media applications to facilitate a learning objective.
  • Communicate effectively over assigned radio using proper military communication procedures.
  • Articulate military style writing when transcribing radio communications into written reports.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Direct maneuver operations staff NCO (S3) experience at the US Army BN or higher levels.
  • Graduate of the US Senior Leaders Course or greater or above.
  • Direct maneuver operations staff NCO (S3) experience at the US Army BN or higher levels.
  • Must be capable of planning, developing, articulating (written and verbal), and executing BCT combined arms/maneuver operations concepts.
  • Possess a working knowledge and demonstrate the ability to achieve proficiency with Command Post of the Future (CPOF) and Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE).
  • Possess a working knowledge and demonstrate the ability to achieve proficiency with hand-held radio systems (Harris XL-200P (P25) or equivalent).
  • Possess a working knowledge and demonstrate the ability to achieve proficiency with tactical Frequency Modulation (FM) radio systems (Single-Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS) or equivalent).
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Power Point, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure scenario consistency and fidelity.
  • Must be able to effectively and independently research, develop, organize, and communicate diverse military operations concepts.
  • Possess a good understanding of US Army Warning Order (WARNORD), Fragmentary Order (FRAGORD), and Operations Order (OPORD) content and composition.
  • Must possess an understanding of commonly-used US military acronyms and terminology.
  • Five (5) years Active Duty Military or Reserve experience commensurate with the position or 1 (1) year Operations Branch experience at the Joint Readiness Training Center.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to access Ft Polk and other military facilities.
