Job SummaryAllied Universal is looking to hire an Assistant Account Manager. The Assistant Account Manager job is responsible for assisting the Account Manager with all supervisory, training and operations functions at the assigned post in accordance with post orders and client instructions, and following all internal procedures. To support and ensure success in this role, we provide a comprehensive, week-long management onboarding course designed to provide best practices, tools and guidance.
Responsibilities- Assist the Account Manager with coordination of all aspects of executing the security contract, assign and direct work tasks to Security Professionals.
- Serve as first direct supervisory contact for shift supervisors or Security Professionals regarding performance, operations, and department needs. Supervise, motivate, coach, and train; evaluate performance and make recommendations for assignments.
- Ensure Post Order manual and all other post and training information are properly maintained and updated; keep the Post cleaned and organized.
- Assist the Account Manager in interviewing and evaluating new employees; conduct on-the-job training in coordination with Shift Supervisors; orient new employees to the post, review post orders, responsibilities, and responses to emergency situations.
- Oversee all reports, logs, and pass downs generated by the Security Department; distribute communications and information to Security Professionals.
- Manage and supervise all sub-units within the Security Department such as fire control room, command center, and loading docks. Generate work orders and paperwork for extra security coverage requests.
- Respond to minor incidents involving Security Professionals or external to the client location, ensuring appropriate action, reporting, and notification.
- Identify personnel problems such as payroll issues or employee relations complaints, forward them to the Account Manager or Field Supervisor; write reports or assist investigations as directed.
- Make recommendations for counseling or disciplinary action, including termination, and execute actions under specific direction.
- Respond to client or site emergencies, ensure communication to Account Manager, Field Supervisor, Branch, and/or Regional Manager, maintain positive client/security relationships through frequent tenant/client contact and support.
- Perform Security Professional duties as needed, not exceeding 50% of time in any given workweek.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Professional-level experience: 3-5 years in security industry, law enforcement, or military.
- Valid state Guard License or applied and issued prior to employment; completion of background investigation and drug/alcohol test required; maintain active status and carry license on duty.
- Driving: valid Driver’s License with at least one year experience, clean driving record with specified limits, required insurance level, ability to safely operate required vehicle.
- Energetic and focused personality; demonstrate initiative, manage multiple assignments, enforce deadlines.
- Strong customer service orientation; resolve client issues professionally, de‑escalate situations.
- Professional, articulate, independent judgment and discretion.
- Ability to train and coach others; enforce post orders, security standards, company policies equally and consistently.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; interact at all organizational levels; team player.
