This position provides security for patients, guests, and employees within the organization, enforcing company policies and procedures while maintaining a courteous and professional environment.
Education- High School diploma or equivalent
- None required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (within 30 days of hire)
- Valid driver’s license in the state of practice with a clean DMV report
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) (within 60 days of hire)
- International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion or hire
- Computer skills required for data entry and retrieval of information.
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
- This position is considered Team A Essential Personnel and must report for duty in the event of a disaster.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Ability to continuously walk the company property including outside areas, interior areas, and stairwells in an 11‑story building.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on‑call availability).
- Enforce all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
- Conduct routine inspections of on‑site and off‑site locations.
- Investigate accidents and other incidents, reporting all occurrences in a timely manner.
- Perform opening/lockdown of all buildings as approved by Administration.
- Participate in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
- Maintain required annual certifications and complete training requirements within required time periods.
- Operate and manage the visitor management system.
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including privacy respect, method of introduction, adapting explanation of services, and communication style.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Exposes employee to conditions such as walking, standing, and pushing/pulling of light materials.
