Security Officer (WAE)
The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is committed to protecting the public by providing safe and effective individualized services to youth. The Bridge City Center for Youth seeks responsible and vigilant individuals to serve as a Security Officer in a part‑time, as‑needed capacity. The role supports safety, maintains order, and promotes a secure environment for youth, staff, and visitors.
Job Duties- Monitor entrances, exits, and facility grounds to ensure security and prevent unauthorized access
- Conduct routine patrols and report any safety concerns or suspicious activity
- Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations or incident response
- Enforce facility rules and support staff in maintaining order
- Complete logs, incident reports, and other documentation as required
- Provide courteous assistance to visitors, staff, and youth while maintaining professional boundaries
Minimum Qualifications: A valid Louisiana Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma.
Position DetailsWork Location: Bridge City Center for Youth, Bridge City, Louisiana.
Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
Appointment Type: Part time/WAE.
Work Details: The position requires a part‑time schedule, working up to 24 hours a week.
Prerequisites: The incumbent must not have been convicted or pleaded nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c). The selected applicant must pass a drug screening test, possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License, and clear a background check.
