Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safety and well-being of guests and fellow employees.
• Gives directions and provides escorts to customers in need.
• Aids civil and law enforcement authorities, including testimony in court and other administrative hearings.
• Performs chip fills and jackpot verifications.
• Regularly provides escorts of money and other assets in money‑handling positions; provides first aid, including CPR when necessary.
• Patrols all sections of property to identify safety hazards and breaks in security; interviews, investigates and documents all applicable incidents in accordance with company policy.
• Creates detailed lost and found reports describing people and incidents.
• Enforces all company policies and procedures.
• Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• Proficient in English, verbal and written.
• Must have valid identification.
• Must obtain and possess a Nevada Gaming Registration Card, an Alcohol Awareness Card (AES/TAM), First Aid & CPR certifications.
• Must present a well‑groomed appearance.
• Must undergo eight hours of ASP (baton) training.
• Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Preferred:
  Individual with two years of police, military, or casino security experience.
• Preferred:
  Prior experience in a position with direct guest contact.
• Ability to manage several tasks at once.
• Must be able to prepare effective written reports.
• Must be able to work effectively with co‑workers and as part of a team.
• Must be able to work and stand inside and outside, sometimes in heat above 115°F or in cold as low as 10°F.
• Must be able to physically restrain individuals when a condition of arrest exists.
• Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee issues.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to stop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip, carry heavy loads and maneuver quickly on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds; must be able to push or pull up to 150 pounds.
• Must be able to see and remember specific details of incidents and people; must be able to give court testimony when necessary and write detailed reports.
• Must be able to tolerate secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
• Must pass the physical and written testing of the Western Division Security Academy within the first ninety days of employment.
• Must recertify between years 2 and 3 through the Western Division Security Academy and must pass all physical, mental and environmental demands as required.
