Retail Security Officer

ASEL is seeking a Retail Security Officer to provide visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports, and collaborate with local authorities.

• Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity.
• Assess and identify vulnerabilities, and work proactively to minimise risk.
• Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable.
• Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid causing distress.
• Complete colleague and contractor searches when required in line with customer company policy.
• Digitally report incidents and use tablets or phones for daily activity planning.
• Ensure detailed and legible incident reporting to assist the client and local authorities.

Location: Greenbanks, Plymouth

Hours: 20 hour weeks

Shifts: 20 Hours - Sat 08:00 to 22:00, Sun 10:00 to 16:00

Hourly Rate: £14.10

• Valid SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence.
• Full 5‑year checkable work or back‑to‑school history.
• Confident communicator able to provide detailed verbal and written accounts of incidents.
• Welcoming and patient with customers, capable of handling conflict professionally.
• Previous retail security experience is an advantage but not essential.
