Schedule/
Hours:
Sunday through Wednesday, 4:00pm to 11:30pm
- Monitors the behavior and activities of clients participating in a Salvation Army housing program; guards the security and safety of Salvation Army facilities and building to ensure compliance with housing rules and policies and to protect the safety of staff and clients.
- Monitors client's behavior and activates to ensure compliance with program/facility rules guidelines; directs clients in appropriate behavior to stay in the program/facility.
- Provides security for the building and grounds, being aware of activities happening in building dormitories; maintains awareness of activities occurring outside the building, ensures that vehicles are not in fire lanes and that property and vehicles are not vandalized.
- Conducts random and routine bed checks to ensure compliance with house rules.
- Inspects baggage for contraband or inappropriate items which jeopardize the security and safety of clients and staff; may operate a metal detector.
- Ensures that the kitchen staff locks the rear door, that the walk-in cooler door is closed, and that lights are off.
- Reports any fire hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Makes visual contact with residents on a regular scheduled basis; records violations of program regulations and completes required reports; notifies the Program Director in a timely manner.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Limited physical effort required, associated with waking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.).
- Work is performed in a normal social service housing environment with little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required.
- Six months experience working with the public with experience working in a security or social service environment preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- First Aid and C.P.R. Certification
