Security Officer Post Certified Jeff Hwy

This security guard position follows established procedures and, under the supervision of the shift supervisor, provides security for patients, employees, as assigned and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. The role enforces company policies and procedures and performs assigned duties that ensure the security of patients, guests, and employees in a courteous and professional manner.

High School diploma or equivalent.

• 1 year of security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Previous or current armed police officer with a Louisiana or Federal Law Enforcement Agency (reserve status acceptable). Must have arrest power and be assigned in an active law enforcement capacity.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Completion of Certified Police Officer Standard Training Policy Academy (state, federal, or military).
• Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certification or Military Police equivalent.
• Valid Louisiana driver’s license with a clean DMV report.
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) and firearms training.
• International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Employment contingent upon successful completion of the FTO Program within the first 60 days of employment.

• Computer skills for data entry and retrieval of information.
• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and keyboard.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
• Ability to report for duty in the event of a disaster as essential personnel.
• Flexibility to work a flexible schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call).

• Enforce all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
• Conduct routine inspections of on‑site and off‑site locations of the company.
• Investigate accidents and incidents as assigned and report all occurrences in a timely manner.
• Perform safety and security related duties as assigned and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Participate in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
• Maintain required annual certifications and complete training requirements within required time periods.
• Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, introduction to patient, explaining services, requesting permissions, and communication style.
• Other related duties as required.

Medium work:
Exerting 20–50 pounds of force occasionally, 10–25 pounds of force frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands exceed those for sedentary work. The role may involve walking, standing, and moving objects. Exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue may occur. Exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste may occur.
