USA Government Jobs - - Responsibilities:
Provide supervision, care and correctional treatment of inmates and guidance to lower-graded Correctional Officers;
Enforce rules and regulations governing facility security, inmate accountability and inmate conduct;
Maintain security and control across institutional areas including housing units, segregation, recreation, dining rooms, and auditoriums;
Carry firearms and, when necessary, use physical force to maintain inmate control;
Work long and irregular hours, including Sundays, holidays, and overtime when required
