Job Overview
This position provides security for patients, guests, and employees. The role enforces company policies, performs assigned duties ensuring security in a courteous and professional manner.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EducationRequired:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Required:
1 year of experience in security, law enforcement, or military.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of practice and clean DMV report.
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) and firearms training.
- International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) certification obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire.
- Completion of the FTO Program within the first 60 days of employment.
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
- Must report for duty as Team A Essential Personnel in the event of a disaster.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Ability to continuously walk the company property, including outside areas, interior areas, and using stairwells in the 11-floor structure.
- Enforce all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
- Conduct routine inspections of on‑site and off‑site locations of the company.
- Investigate accidents and other incidents assigned and report all occurrences in a timely manner.
- Perform opening/lockdown of all buildings as approved by administration and perform other safety and security related duties as assigned.
- Participate in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
- Maintain required annual certifications and complete training requirements within required time periods.
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including privacy respect, method of introduction to patients, adapting explanation of services or procedures, requesting permissions, and communication style.
- Other related duties as required.
Medium work—exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or hazardous medications.
