Dow is seeking new Maintenance Technicians to support Louisiana Operations in Plaquemine, LA. As the maintenance technician you will overhaul, repair, and perform advanced troubleshooting on industrial rotating equipment. You will work on reciprocating compressors, various types of blowers, centrifugal pumps, centrifugal compressors, gearboxes, and other rotating mechanical equipment. You will have training and experience similar to a journeyman millwright, with some experience in equipment‑rigging typically performed by this position.
You will be required to perform minor pipe fitting tasks associated with general millwright work.
- Diagnose and correct equipment problems.
- Calibrate and align equipment.
- Complete preventative maintenance activities.
- Check sizing of components and parts.
- Specify, requisition, and install parts and equipment.
- Coordinate maintenance spare parts.
- Assist in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input.
- Set up and calibrate, test, measure and repair all types of controls and instruments with pneumatic, electrical, and electronic variables.
- Repair, maintain, and install equipment and machinery which is used in the process.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions and documents failure analysis.
- Collect equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
- Work within established Maintenance Work Processes and help resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or a GED equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial setting.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
- Must be able to work on a 4-10 schedule (4 days per week at 10 hours per day) with occasional overtime as dictated by business needs. Including participation in an after‑hour call rotation for night and weekend coverage.

- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
- NCCER certified Millwright.
- SAP experience.
Willing and able to meet physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel‑toed shoes.
- Wear and use respirators.
- Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Work in tight or closed‑in spaces.
- Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
- Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
- This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.
