Construo Recruitment is working in partnership with a growing compliance and electrical contractor to recruit a Trainee Fire & Security Engineer.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the fire and security industry. Joining an engineer-led business with a strong focus on training, development, and progression, you will work alongside experienced engineers learning the installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire, security, and life safety systems across Devon and Cornwall.

Full training and industry-recognised qualifications will be provided, with a clear pathway towards becoming a fully qualified Fire & Security Engineer.

• Assist engineers with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire and security systems
• Learn fault-finding and diagnostic procedures across a range of life safety systems
• Support planned preventative maintenance visits and reactive works
• Use mobile job management software to record and manage work activities
• Complete project paperwork and documentation accurately
• Take site photographs and maintain detailed job records
• Communicate professionally with customers and clients on-site
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicle stock levels
• Follow company procedures, health & safety standards, and compliance requirements
• Work towards industry qualifications and ongoing technical development
• Progress towards independently managing installations and service work

• Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work
• Practical and hands-on attitude with a willingness to learn
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Positive, self-motivated, and proactive mindset
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential)

• Electrical improver or electrical installation experience
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Previous construction or site-based experience
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Customer-facing experience

• Salary of £27,000 – £29,100
