Journeyman Electrician

Eastern or Central Iowa Full-Time Negotiable, based on qualifications

Woodman Controls Company is currently hiring a Journeyman Electrician to join our team in Eastern or Central Iowa. We are seeking innovative and self-motivated candidates who are committed to delivering exceptional customer service.

• Primarily work in commercial and/or industrial settings.
• Analyze blueprints, schematics, and electrical system drawings to determine installation methods for wiring and conduit in compliance with NEC and local codes.
• Install conduit, fixtures, and equipment to provide enhanced or upgraded electrical capabilities.
• Complete layout and installation of underground and rigid conduit systems.
• Install and support cable trays and pull cable tray wiring.
• Terminate panels according to drawings in a neat and professional manner.
• Manage project materials, including ordering, receiving on-site, checking for accuracy and condition, and processing paperwork promptly.
• Respond to emergency situations during and after hours to address immediate safety concerns.
• Ensure job site safety by adhering to all safety procedures, conducting safety meetings and toolbox chats, and promoting a culture of safe work practices.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain current knowledge of industry trends and meet certification requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project and team success.

• Strong communication skills and personable demeanor.
• HVAC knowledge and prior experience in controls programming and networking (Tridium preferred).
• Strong background in commercial troubleshooting.
• Adaptability to changing work environments.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.

• Proven experience as a skilled electrician, particularly on small to medium-sized teams.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and safety regulations.
• Current State of Iowa Class A Journeyman License.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to meet company driving standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
