We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician with a can‑do attitude, strong problem‑solving skills, and an active EPA Certification.
Job Responsibilities- Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems, refrigeration systems, and food service equipment.
- Perform maintenance and service repairs, install new units, or replace parts of existing units for systems 15 tons or larger.
- Maintain larger PM contracts with more than 5 units.
- Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls.
- Service and troubleshoot mini-splits and/or replace smaller RTU’s and mini-splits for 15 tons or less.
- Communicate with Dispatch to ensure completion of scheduled jobs.
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for customers.
- Provide elite customer service to every customer encountered.
- Continual learning and development through First Call Academy to maintain industry‑leading skill level.
- Deliver elite level customer service, ensuring customers call First Call for their HVAC needs.
- TWIC card required.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Active EPA Certification.
- 5+ years of experience in a commercial HVAC setting.
- OSHA 10 Certification.
- Manufacturer Certification is preferred.
- Availability to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write correspondence; effectively communicate with customers and account managers.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio, percent; read and interpret graphs.
Reasoning AbilityApply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions; handle problems with concrete variables; prioritize multiple tasks; lead and teach helpers and tech I’s.
Physical DemandsRegularly use hands; stand, walk, sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift/move up to 50 pounds; specific vision abilities required.
