Side-Boom Operator

Primoris Pipeline is seeking experienced Side-Boom Operators to support pipeline construction projects in Cameron, LA. This position is responsible for safely operating side-boom tractors and related equipment to lift, transport, align, and lower pipe during the construction of oil, gas, and utility pipelines. The ideal candidate will have experience working on active pipeline spreads and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, productivity, and teamwork.

Experience operating Caterpillar or equivalent side-boom equipment is preferred.

• Safely operate side-boom equipment in support of pipeline construction activities.
• Lift, carry, position, and lower pipe sections during pipeline installation.
• Participate in lowering-in operations and assist with tie-in activities.
• Work closely with welders, laborers, operators, and field supervision to support project objectives.
• Inspect rigging, lifting devices, and equipment prior to use.
• Maintain awareness of personnel, equipment, and underground facilities within the work area.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs.
• Follow all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements.
• Maintain proper communication with ground personnel during lifting and lowering operations.
• Assist with general construction activities when equipment operation is not required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating side-boom equipment in pipeline construction environments.
• Experience working on transmission, gathering, or utility pipeline projects preferred.
• Knowledge of safe lifting, rigging, and load-handling practices.
• Ability to work safely around active pipeline construction operations.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and challenging terrain.
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members.

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and travel as project needs require.
