Barge Engineer, Marine

Marine Boat Engineers - 28/14 or 28/28 - Lettsworth, LA

Terral River Service, Inc. is seeking experienced Boat Engineers to join their team operating line boats along the inland waterways. This role involves hands‑on work maintaining and repairing vessel systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, comfortable working on the water, and able to handle physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC
• At least one year of experience operating and maintaining Caterpillar (CAT) and Electro‑Motive Diesel (EMD) diesel engines and power generators
• Valid/current driver’s license
• Dependable transportation to designated TRS locations
• Ability to work various hours, holidays, and weekends
• Pass”fit for duty“ physical requirements, including lifting up to 75 pounds, climbing ladders, and working at heights up to 40 feet
• Comfort working aboard boats and barges in all weather conditions

• Extensive knowledge of marine equipment, engines, and boat systems
