Salary Range: $22.00 To $35.00 Hourly
Location: Clayton, Iowa
Wage: Based on experience:
- No certifications but working experience- $22- $29 or
Certifications such as Journeyman/Master or HVAC certifications plus experience $29 -$35
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Work Schedule: Alternating Schedule- 1 week Monday-Thursday 10 hour days 6am-4pm and 2 nd week Tuesday
- Friday 10 hour days 6am-4pm.
The Industrial Maintenance Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility. This position supports production by minimizing equipment downtime while maintaining compliance with all company safety policies and applicable electrical codes.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform routine inspections and operational status checks on electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and control system failures.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment including motors, motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), switch gear, circuit breakers, relays, sensors, and environmental control systems.
- Identify electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment and diagnostic techniques.
- Replace or repair defective breakers, switches, contractors, thermostats, fuses, wiring, conduit, and other electrical components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Install new electrical equipment and modify existing systems as required.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Assist with parts identification, inventory management, and material organization.
- Support HVAC and general maintenance activities when required.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests.
- Perform other maintenance, construction, and electrical duties as assigned.
- Three to five years of industrial electrical maintenance experience is preferred.
- Experience in mining, aggregate, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments is highly desirable.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems including motor controls, VFDs, PLC I/O, and instrumentation.
- Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment including multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, and other diagnostic instruments.
- Ability to read, understand, and complete work orders and maintenance documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other basic computer applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced maintenance environment.

- Maintain tools and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance practices.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent electrical certification preferred.
- Associate's degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related field is a plus.
- Valid driver's license required.
- OSHA, NFPA 70E, MSHA, or other applicable safety certifications are considered an asset.
