The Pipefitter role at Turner Industries is a full‑time, on‑site position located in Norco, LA. The Pipefitter will install, assemble, layout, and maintain piping systems according to blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications. Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipe, fitting and securing pipe using appropriate tools and welding methods, and performing tests to ensure system integrity and proper operation. The Pipefitter will work closely with other crafts and supervisors to complete industrial projects safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and industry standards.
Daily work involves adhering to safety procedures, maintaining tools and equipment, and contributing to a productive jobsite environment.
- Strong pipe and pipe fitting skills, including layout, installation, and repair of industrial piping systems.
- Proficiency in welding techniques relevant to pipe fitting, including TIG welding and other common industrial welding methods.
- Experience working with steam and other process piping systems in industrial environments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and piping specifications accurately.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety practices, including adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.
- Relevant industrial or construction experience as a pipefitter or in a closely related craft.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and work in various positions and outdoor conditions, including at heights or in confined spaces, with appropriate safety gear.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship or vocational training in pipe fitting or welding is preferred.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
