Responsibilities- Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
- Act as a trusted advisor, delivering solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service.
- Recommend and provide solutions to keep facilities running efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO.
- Be a dedicated member of a North America Branch team willing to learn and be responsible for startup, commissioning, and aftermarket services for this fast‑growing business.
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of practical working experience on air‑cooled and/or water‑cooled chillers, industrial chillers, AHU’s or large roof‑top ducted units with strong HVAC/mechanical troubleshooting experience; can lead large complex repairs, jobs or retrofits.
- Able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, absorption chillers, screw chillers and/or ammonia/hydrocarbon system components.
- Maintain ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification.
- Extensive experience in HVAC systems, including chilled water loops, pumping, compressor enthalpy, compressor troubleshooting and rebuild.
- Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, lasers, etc. of pumps, fans, compressors.
- Able to use vibration equipment to troubleshoot compressor drive lines.
- Proficient in the operations, troubleshooting and repair of large‑tonnage chillers 460 vac VSD’s and medium‑voltage 4160 vac VSD’s.
- Proficient in multiple OEM chiller panels and controllers.
- Able to troubleshoot industrial Allen Bradley control systems and adjustments.
- Travel may be required 10% to 20% to support Branch customers’ startup and commissioning activities as well as aftermarket service troubleshooting.
- Will be required to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.

- Will work with other local market mechanics and provide on‑the‑job training; may participate and be a leader in local relevant classroom training for other technicians.
- Attention to detail through interpersonal, digital, and written skills; able to write and communicate to customers the problem, cause, and corrective actions.
- Able to provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
- Self‑starter with a passion/desire to learn and apply on the job.
- Prioritize safety in all forms.
- Hold a Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver’s license.
